Batter up!

Robert has been doing a lot better with baseball this year thanks to the new glasses. His hitting has improved so much that his coach suggested he start looking for a new bat. He had tried out several of his teammates' and friends' bats until he got an idea of what he wanted. So we went to Dunham's, praying the entire way that it wasn't going to be a $200 bat. When we got there, my prayers were answered! His bat was on sale for 75% off!!!

Since this bat was a little heavier than what he had been using before, we knew there was going to be some breaking in time. The first 2 games he got some solid singles, which he was very happy with. But last night, everything came together. The first hit was a VERY long foul ball just over the 3rd base line fence. The opposing team's coach saw that and had his outfield shift to the left. Robert's next hit was to right field, about 2 feet from where the right fielder HAD been standing! If he hadn't of been watching the ball he would have had a triple out of that hit! But he was still extremely happy with the double he got! Even his friend's on the other team yelled "nice hit!" to him!

They ended up losing the game last night but none of the boys were disappointed. Every single player came out of the dugout with smiles on their faces. That's what little league is all about!
